Henry Ian Cusick

Henry Ian Cusick was born in Trujillo, Peru, and raised in Trinidad before moving to Scotland as a teenager. A bilingual actor, writer, and director, he trained at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama (now known as the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland), where he honed his craft in theater, boasting nearly two decades of performances across the UK, including repertory at the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC), the Royal National Theatre, and Glasgow's Citizens Theatre to name a few.

Cusick received a Special Commendation in the Ian Charleson Awards for his outstanding performance in the title role of Torquato Tasso at the Edinburgh International Festival and for his role as ‘Creon' in ‘Oedipus' at the Glasgow Citizens Theatre.

He is perhaps best known for his Emmy Award-nominated role as "Desmond" in the ABC hit series LOST. Since then, Cusick’s extensive credits include regular TV roles on The CW's THE 100, ABC's SCANDAL, CBS’s MACGYVER, and FOX’s THE PASSAGE, as well as recurring roles on ABC’s BIG SKY, FRINGE, INHUMANS, THE MENTALIST, BODY OF PROOF, and most recently on 911: LONE STAR and NCIS: HAWAI’I.

In film, Cusick has showcased his versatility through roles in HITMAN and various independent films, playing leading roles in The WIND AND THE RECKONING, REMEMORY, CHIMERA, PALI ROAD, DARWIN, LET IT GO, NOT ANOTHER HAPPY ENDING, FRANK VS. GOD, THE GIRL ON THE TRAIN, and HAE HAWAI'I.

Upcoming projects include roles in Amazon’s BUTTERFLY, leading roles in the independent film FUGITIVE FROM ASTERON and, notably, his first Spanish-speaking role as the lead in the film LOS VAMPIRES all to be released in 2025.

Cusick has also ventured into directing, with credits that include episodes on the CW’s THE 100, “The Other Side” and “The Warriors Will,” as well as the short film “DRESS,” which won Best Short at the Hawaiian Film Festival and the Peace on Earth Film Festival, and an upcoming short film titled “SALVADOR” that is set to be screened at HIFF in late 2025.

He hold both U.S and British citizenship.
